Eastside Veterinary Clinic

Opened in 2000, Eastside Veterinary Clinic is a full service Veterinary facility, caring for animals of the Greater Providence, Rhode Island Area. We are staffed with four highly experienced Veterinarians and many compassionate, skilled Veterinary Technicians. In addition to providing services to the public, we partner with local shelters to promote adoption and affordable spay/neuter programs. We are able to provide both routine and specialty services.   • Dr. Peter Cournoyer, Owner

    Dr. Cournoyer graduated from  Boston College in 1984 and Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine  in 1989. He opened the practice in 1993 and especially enjoys primary care and surgery. He is married with three children and enjoys the family pets; two dogs, two cats, a horse and a hermit crab.

  • Dr. Jessica Murphy DVM

    Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Jessica Glatzer-Murphy (Dr. Murphy) received an undergraduate degree in environmental studies from the University of Vermont, and a master's degree in environmental science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She then worked for several years in non-profit animal and environmental protection organizations before deciding that veterinary medicine was her true calling. Dr. Murphy obtained her DVM from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.  Prior to joining the staff at Eastside, Dr. Murphy worked as a general practitioner in Rhode Island since 2007.

    Professionally, Dr. Murphy enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a special interest in preventative care, internal medicine and pain management.  When not working, Dr. Murphy loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, exercising, and enjoying the great restaurants in Providence.  Dr. Murphy currently lives in Providence with her husband, two children, Lucas and Julia, and her rescue collection, which consists of 2 shih-tzu's Rosie and Chloe, her 2 cats George and Louie and her fish.

    Lori Schneider DVM

    Dr. Lori Schneider graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. An Iowa native, she likes living in and experiencing Rhode Island. She spent nine years at our sister clinic in East Providence before joining our Providence clinic.

    While she enjoys all aspect of practice, she especially likes getting to know clients and their furry family members. She shares her home with a dog Ivan, 2 cats Phoebe and Pauline, numerous fish as well as her husband and two young sons.

  • Dina Scotto DVM

    Dr. Scotto, is a native Rhode Islander, received her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University.  She has practiced veterinary medicine in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  Her special interests include General Practice, Preventative Care, Internal Medicine and Small Mammals.  She also has a part time mobile farm animal practice.  She lives with her partner and their four legged family of Lucy, a beagle mix and cats: Maddy, Oliver, Abby and Hope.  When not working Dr. Scotto enjoys being outdoors, hiking or cross country skiing.

  • Jamie Sprengel

    Office Manager

    Jamie is originally from New Jersey, but after graduating from URI with a degree in Pre-Vet Medicine she has been living in RI. She lives with her Corgi named  "Chubbs" and several cats. She enjoys working here and looks forward to seeing you and your four-legged pets!

    Veterinary Assistant

    Kathy lives in Rehoboth with her husband, Shelties and Kitties. She has worked in the Veterinary field since 1982 and enjoys the many clients and their furry "Kids".

  • Kim Narciso

    Kim, from Providence recently graduated from New England Institute of Technology with a degree in Veterinary Technology.  She started as an intern and worked her way up to a full time technician.  She lives with her furry feline Bella.  Kim is pictured here with one of her favorite bulldogs Ruby Ricci.  She's excited to meet you and your four legged family members!

  • Jessica Ducharme

    Jessica graduated from New England Institute of Technology on September 2016 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She first started with us as an intern but eventually worked her way up to a full-time position shortly after finishing school. She currently lives at home with her furry companions, her 8 year old boxer, Bella and her 11 month old kitten, Phoenix who she recently adopted from Providence Animal Shelter in November 2017. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, reading books and horseback riding. She's always had a passion for helping animals since she was a little child and is excited to meet all your furry family members!
